laguna

It's so hot, I saw squirrels fanning their nuts.

Ok, so we don't even have squirrels in Australia, but come on, can't a girl drop the words squirrel and nuts in the same sentence and love it? But to get to the point, I'm taking advantage of this warmer weather by faking a sun-kissed glow (fake has always been the new bake, guys!). Now, I've searched long and hard for the perfect bronzer (say what? You've spent how much $m$n$y$ looking?!!) and I can now finally put down the beauty binoculars and enjoy my new found treasure.
NARS bronzing powder in the shade LAGUNA is by far the best bronzer, dare I say it, makeup product I have ever used. And damn right it should be! I've never spent so much money on one face product in my life. Don't be put off by the price, it's amazing the difference a good bronzer can make. California here we come!

Also found on my journey a new black jumpsuit, a grey handbag, turquoise and silver necklace and makeup brush set, all for less than the NARS bronzer. But I'm not letting that knowledge rain on my golden parade.

stereosonic

A week without blogging can do nasty things to your mind. Finally, a spare moment to sit down, feel inspired and post something. Firstly, thank you all so much for the birthday wishes. It's really awesome to know that people that read my blog take the time to wish me a happy birthday. Thank you so much. I appreciate it more than you know.

Sunday was Brisbane's Stereosonic, an annual music festival where everyone shows off their glowing tan, crazy outfits and their ability to dance. Not to mention, the music is insane. My boyfriend played there so I couldn't pass up a free ticket and joined in with the festive spirit. Cameras plus festivals is camera suicide so, alas, the only photo I achieved from the day was a grainy mobile phone pic. Apparently the Cobra Snake was roaming the grounds, but I didn't see him once. That might have been because I was enjoying the music and my friends' company...
Maybe next time, eh?

you got a smile so bright, you know you could have been a candle

Today was World Aids Day and also my 20th Birthday...
Last night, I celebrated being 20 years young with my favourite people while drinking the most tantalizing cocktails, downing mouth-watering pad thai and scoffing delish caramel cake. I didn't get many photos because at the end of the day, you just gotta put the camera down and enjoy the moment as its beautiful self before it passes. (Apologies to those who aren't in the photos, your presence was just as magical and I love you guys just as much!). I just want to say thank you to those lovely people that made my birthday more amazing than I could have every imagined. I love you.

Gotta love it when the your name for Reservation is spelled wrong...
"Faridan" in da houseee?

YAY BIRTHDAY CAKE!!!:

Say wha????
I could have sworn I just blew those fellas out??

JASON!!!! This cute little couple, up to their usual tricks lining the cake with magic candles. Those sneaky candles light back up when you've got your eyes closed while you make your wish:

Don't worry, I'm going to get you you freakin' naughty candle...

I also want to say thank you to my beautiful readers. You are all so beautiful, unique and are an amazing individual. Don't ever let anything in life make you doubt that. It's your life and no one can change that. Lots of love.

snakes and ladders

How much does it suck getting an unintentional ladder in a pair of new stockings? But you keep that abused pair, don't you? In fact, you continue to hoard a collection of ripped, shredded and torn stockings that would work just as well as Charlotte's web. Because knowing that you just spent money on half an hour of fabric covered, warm legs just doesn't cut it and somehow keeping them packed away justifies that money spent. You know you wont wear it but. Because, unless it's intentional and you're going for that well-worked rock chic look, ladders in your stockings is more eek than chic.

I just stumbled across three pairs of hole-ridden stockings while trying to compile an outfit this morning and just couldn't work that rock chic look.

Plan B? Cut the feet off to make socks! You can make all kinds of length socks.
Fish nets are the worst for rips, so I made some fish net little socks too.

Result: me sporting some sheer tight socks. I love the relaxed but edgy feel they give to an outfit. Try it! It's almost too satisfying cutting up those mangy things to produce something so much more fresh.
What are you waiting for??
CHOP CHOP!!!
